Hedges must be trimmed at least once a year to maintain shape, density, and overall aesthetic appeal. Did you know for every year you don't trim a hedge, it takes another year to bring it back to where it was the previous year? Seasonal trimming and pruning will ensure the health and wellness of your hedge.
It is imperative to water your hedges daily for the first few seasons. Cedars are native to swamps and areas with abundant water. These trees have shallow root plates and need lots of water. In extremely hot weather they can dry out and die very quickly.
Along with loads of water, hedges need light. Prune other trees to allow for more light and don't plant shade bearing trees around hedges.
